HISTORY: This Historical house was originally built in 1906 in Lake Chelan's Lakeside District, previously Okanogan County in 1899, and was relocated here to its current location next to the Little Stone Church, when the lake level was raised in 1927 as part of the hydroelectric project. With the completion of the Chelan Dam, Lake Chelan's water level was raised 21 feet to 1,100 feet above sea level. Flooded in the process were many Lakeside area buildings.
In 1956 the residents of Lakeside, a community that had lasted for over 50 years voted to become part of the City of Chelan. The original owner was believed to be one of the area's ship captains. His son was born and raised in the house and lived there into the 1990's.
The house's next owner was Denny Evans, a well known Lake Chelan orchardist and owner of the Sunshine Fruit Market. He remodeled the house extensively and rented it out as a vacation rental. Don & Patty purchased the house in 2004 and completed the updating process and transformed the house into the Stillwater Inn.
