YOUR HOSTS: How long does it take to get from Wenatchee to Lake Chelan? A Lifetime it seems… Don and Patty are both originally from the Wenatchee area. As kids both of them frequented Lake Chelan with their families. Don and Patty met in Wenatchee and many of their dates took them to Lake Chelan and especially to Lakeside. Don and Patty married in Wenatchee in 1966. Don was then working for the Wenatchee Police Department and Patty was working as a secretary and bookkeeper . With the war abroad, Don (Major Forbush, Ret.) left his family behind to serve his country. After his return and recuperating from severe combat injuries Don returned to law enforcement. Working for a variety different agencies, to include the Chelan Sheriffs Office, Washington Gambling Commission and as the Sheriff of Lincoln County. Throughout this they raised two children (Kelli & Kris) and brought their family to Lake Chelan for vacations when possible. After Don's law enforcement career he re-entered school and became a Pastor. This brought Don and Patty back to Central Washington with Don Pastoring a church in Entiat, and Patty working for a local credit union in bookkeeping. Again frequenting the Lake Chelan Valley. Following this Don's work took them to Friday Harbor with Don pastoring a Church and operating his own business ventures. Patty continued her work in bookkeeping. Upon Don's retirement from the Church, Don and Patty returned to Lake Chelan in 2003 for a Summer Vacation. It was then they both realized that this was where they wanted to be and within a month relocated to the Lake Chelan Valley. During this time they searched the Lake Chelan Valley for that special place to call home. They finally found the house in the Lakeside District, which seemed to fit what they were looking for. Unfortunately it was not for sale. They contacted the owner and after many months, the previous owner sold the house and in October 2004 Don and Patty moved in. They decided that with all their previous experiences and their joy to be surrounded by family and friends, that they wanted to turn the house into a Bed and Breakfast. They love to open their home to others and are always open to meeting new friends.
Don's love of cooking and Patty's ability to make people welcome in their home and pamper them, made this the perfect choice.
They have both made Lake Chelan Valley their home and they invite you to come and enjoy their special place and all that the Stillwater Inn and the Lake Chelan Valley has to offer year round.
So give them a call, drop them an email or if you're in town stop on by and say hello!
are always yummy treats on hand. Patty also loves everything about the lake, water-skiing, swimming and used to be a swim instructor. Top of Page
